Bright Colors

I love the brilliance of turquoise, yellow and red. This still life combines those colors resulting in a southwestern flair, thus the title, "Baja".

Had a rainy weekend at Lake of the Ozarks this past weekend. Not so good for boating, but fine for painting!

Irresitible Iris

I truly love irises. They are big, tall, fragrant, colorful, hardy, reliable, showy, long-lived, what more can you want from your flower garden. This painting is from a bouquet I cut last Tuesday for my son's birthday dinner.

This classic landscape is a river bluff in Missouri along the Gasconade river. I bet there are many similar views wherever glacial outcroppings meet winding rivers.

Set The Mood

In this little painting I wanted a sense of serenity so I kept the colors muted and edges softened. The result is quiet and peaceful, I think.

Abstraction

Ah, driven to abstraction. Sometimes I just love to think of a pleasing palette and then apply bold strokes, wet-in-wet, thinking about shape placement. For you painters, this one is Maimeri Bleu Verde, DS Undersea green and WS Cad Scarlet.
