Two Views of the Cove at Low Tide

One of the images offered in the Wet Canvas weekly challenge was this quiet cove in British Columbia.  I painted it twice; once with some realism and again loose and fast.  Which do you prefer?

I prefer the first one. It is more rustic and real. Though I do like them both.
